Ronin M motorized gimbal stablizer

I recently added a Ronin motorized gimbal stabilizer to my video gear arsenal. The Ronin smooths out camera movement, and minimizes the need for extra support gear like tripods, sliders and cranes. I expect this piece of gear will get a lot of use on future projects.

Improv Jam Trailer

Last December I took part in an interesting video shoot; 3 of Seattle’s leading jazz musicians jamming with upcoming blues and rap musicians. We had upwards of NINE cameras running and the shoot was a bit of a free-for-all, not unlike the improvised music. As a musician myself, I found the interaction between the old-school jazz masters and the younger musicians to be quite interesting.

Here is the final project:

Michael Brockman, Clarence Acox and Phil Sparks of the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra (
Ayron Jones of AJ and the Way (
Turtle T. ( with a special guest star appearance from RA Scion (

The Crew:
Producer/Director: Ron Dawson, Dare Dreamer Media (
Co-Producer/Audio/Camera: Brian Russell, Willow Craft Media (
Camera and Lighting: Stuart Ferrier, Blue Fern Productions (
Camera: Sarah Ferrier, Blue Fern Productions
Camera: David Patterson (
Camera: April Johnson
Audio Mixer: Blaine Rochester
